Seventy musicians will gather to collectively present a tribute to the life of James Donald Coleman (1972-2005), One World Symphony's Principal Violist, who died of colon cancer on March 28, 2005. The music chosen for the program is intended as a reflection on the profound influence that James had on the musicians of One World Symphony and on all who knew him. James is remembered for his passion for music (he especially loved teaching music to children), his deep bonds with family and friends, his irresistible sense of humor, his positive and inspiring spirit, and his magnetic presence. In addition to works by Rachmaninoff, Sibelius, Mozart, and Beethoven, One World Symphony will perform the world premiere of several songs written by James himself. Proceeds from the concert will go toward One World Symphony's James Coleman Young Artist Project.
